Certifications and our constant commitment

The WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development), has declined the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in 17 Good Life Goals, or small concrete objectives that each individual can adopt to contribute to the global achievement of the SDGs.

The assumption of the 2030 agenda is that the SDGs, to be achieved within the established deadline, require a global mobilization, which includes governments, companies and non-profit organizations, as well as consumers and ordinary citizens.

The 17 Good Life Goals are defined as “Personal Actions that everyone around the world can take to help support the Sustainable Development Goals” (free translation “personal actions that every individual in the world can take to help achieve the SDGs”).

These are small actions that, if implemented over time, can change the lifestyle of each individual and actively contribute to achieving the 17 global goals of sustainable growth.

This is why “We Plant” was born, the Icon Collection brand that promotes sustainable initiatives and practices.

  • Pollution reduction
  • Reforestation
  • Water saving
  • Energy saving
  • Sustainable waste collection
  • Food saving

Eco Hotel, our practices in the hotel

We have come up with very specific plans for the catering and conference sectors.

Sustainability starts with the rooms and suites

In the Icon Collection rooms and suites, the classic bottles with shampoo, shower gel and conditioner have been replaced with reusable bottles in the courtesy line. In order to comply with regulations on the discharge of surfactants into the sewer system, “ecolabel” detergents will also be implemented in some departments for cleaning and sanitizing furnishings and internal and external spaces.

We Plant Event – A Tree for Our Internal Guests

Das Projekt „We Plant“, das 2025 zum dritten Mal stattfindet, stellt eine der authentischsten Säulen des Engagements der Icon Collection für Nachhaltigkeit und Menschen dar.

The “We Plant” project, now in its third edition in 2025, represents one of the most authentic pillars of Icon Collection’s commitment to sustainability and people.

“People are at the heart of everything we do,” says Federico Ficcanterri, CEO of Icon Collection with his cousin Riccardo. “Every tree we plant represents a bond of trust, listening, and gratitude towards our guests. ‘We Plant’ is not just an environmental gesture, but a way to grow together, as individuals and as a community.”

The project is inspired by the principles “PEOPLE” and “We Listen,” which embody Icon Collection’s philosophy: building a sustainable organization based on human well-being. People — employees, guests, and the community — are the beating heart of every decision, every initiative, and every rooted in the local community.

The PEOPLE project is dedicated to empowering employees and building a shared future. Through personalized learning paths and active listening sessions, the project promotes professional and personal development, addressing individual needs and strengthening a sense of belonging. It puts into practice Icon Collection’s core values—collaboration, growth, and inclusion—and represents a key element of the group’s vision: combining environmental sustainability with a focus on people and creating a work environment where everyone feels heard, inspired, and part of a community.

At a time when the difference between an ordinary stay and an unforgettable experience lies in human connection, Icon Collection also launched the ‘Ci Ascoltiamo’ project in 2025, a pioneering initiative that redefines the concept of hospitality. It’s not just about customer service: the project stems from a desire to renew the company culture from within and make active listening a fundamental pillar of the group’s identity. “During the day, new Halepensis pine and holm oak trees were planted, symbols of rootedness, strength, and shared growth.”

“We Plant” also contributes to the achievement of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s SDG 15 “Life on Land” (Love Nature), strengthening the Group’s commitment to protecting biodiversity and regenerating natural heritage. With this initiative, Icon Collection demonstrates that caring for nature also means caring for the people who inhabit it.

Certifications and our constant commitment

Since its inception, Park Hotel Marinetta has managed its activities with particular environmental sensitivity.
This commitment has materialized in the implementation of an Environmental Management System structured according to the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 and UNI ISO 13009:2018 standards; Park Hotel Marinetta aims to offer a hospitality service that systematically includes the planning and control of specific environmental objectives over time, and sensitizes guests themselves towards greater attention and awareness in respecting and protecting the environment. Park Hotel Marinetta wishes to express its commitment to compliance with environmental legislation and regulations applicable to the prevention of pollution and to the continuous improvement of its performance on these issues.

The Hotel Management also expresses its desire to protect and respect the environmental heritage and the safety of both guests and operators, while simultaneously pursuing the satisfaction of the needs and expectations of the Customer, maintaining the Quality of the service provided at the highest levels.

This commitment is implemented through the following activities:

Approximately 100,000 Kwh are then redistributed to the grid, for a total average annual consumption of the facility, coming from our solar panels, of 130,000 Kwh, approximately 15% of the facility’s needs.
  • In 2021 we produced 119,890 kg of waste, of which 75% was recyclable and/or biodegradable material.
  • Prevention of pollution and environmental risks related to the tourist activities and services offered is minimized by carrying out preventive assessments, monitoring critical parameters and systematically checking potentially dangerous systems for the environment.
  • Information, training and updating activities, aimed at all employees to promote responsibility and awareness of the environment.
  • Raising awareness of suppliers of goods and services on the contents of the environmental policy.
  • Use, where possible, of eco-friendly products.
  • Communication, transparency and awareness-raising aimed at the local community and customers on the environmental issue.
  • Implementation of an energy and water saving policy while maintaining the comfort conditions provided by the facility.
