Cycle routes – difficulty: low

From Marina di Bibbona to Populonia

Populonia is a beautiful little town perched on the top of a rocky spur above the sea of the Etruscan Coast. The climb is worth it by bike, along a 35 km long route.

From Marina di Bibbona to Bolgheri

A charming route that brings you from the sea towards the interior, passing Cecina, Bibbona and Bolgheri, the marvellous historic town famous around the world for its top-class wines and class Tuscan vineyard landscapes.

From Cecina to Volterra

This is your chance to finally visit Volterra, the city of marble and alabaster. It’s easily reached by bike from Cecina along a 30km long route with little change in altitude.

Etruscan Coast Granfondo

One of the most interesting and best-known routes along the Etruscan Coast, in the footsteps of the bike race of the same name. This is 67 km through the hinterland of Tuscany, passing Bolgheri and Bibbona with a climb of 850 m along the way.

Montescudaio and Bibbona route

A looped route along one of the most fascinating areas of the Etruscan Coast. Cycle as far as Montescudaio, a historic Lombard town dating to the year 1,000 AD which is famous for historic villas and ancient churches.

From San Vincenzo to Piombino

A wonderful route along the coast, passing the lovely Gulf of Baratti and arriving at Piombino along the Via dei Cavalleggeri.

From Follonica to Montalcino

A decent climb of 2,000 metres on a route of more than 100 km will take you from the coast to Montalcino, a typical hilltop town known for its Brunello wine, one of the most loved of all Tuscan labels.

Suvereto

A route of 130 km with a climb of more than 2,000 metres that passes Suvereto, a medieval hilltop town looking down over the sea of the Etruscan coast, arriving finally at Pomarance.
